Mayor determined by lottery in Ardahan's Çıldır after tied vote
In the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, the mayor of the Çıldır district in Ardahan was determined by lottery after the AK Party and CHP mayoral candidates received an equal number of votes.

According to the unofficial results of the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, CHP candidate Nurettin Aygün and AK Party candidate Kemal Yakup Azizoğlu each received 452 votes.
Following the tie, the objections filed by both parties to the election board were rejected.
In the lottery held at the election board in the presence of party representatives, the name of AK Party candidate Kemal Yakup Azizoğlu was drawn.
Speaking to reporters as he left the courthouse, Azizoğlu said, "We won; may it be auspicious for our district and our Ardahan."
