Following the speech by CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel at the CHP Group Meeting, in which he announced that a new party would be established, the first assessment came from the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu camp.
Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency, stated in a broadcast on Haberler.com that they had remained silent until now to protect the party's institutional identity. Tekin made evaluations regarding the announcement of the new party.
"FROM NOW ON, CHP WILL BE OCCUPIED WITH TURKEY'S REAL AGENDA"
Tekin used the expressions, "From now on, the Republican People's Party will be occupied with Turkey's real agenda. We always remained silent so that no harm would come to the party's institutional identity, but from now on, no one can silence us."
"ALMOST ALL OF OUR MUNICIPALITIES WILL CONTINUE THEIR PATH IN THE CHP"
Continuing his remarks, Tekin said, "What everyone is very curious about, I will express here for the first time," and made evaluations regarding the CHP municipalities.
Tekin said, "For example, Beylikdüzü Municipality will remain in its party. For instance, Üsküdar, Kartal, Sarıyer, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu as well... In other words, almost all of our municipalities will continue their path in the Republican People's Party, the father's hearth."
DEDETAŞ WAS KNOWN TO BE CLOSE TO İMAMOĞLU
Among the mayors named in Tekin's statements was Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş. Dedetaş is known as one of the names close to Ekrem İmamoğlu.
NEW PARTY STATEMENT FROM ZEYDAN KARALAR
Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who was removed from office by the Ministry of Interior, also stated that he would not join the new party that Özgür Özel announced he would establish.
Speaking to journalist Hilal Köylü, Karalar responded to the question, "Will you switch to the New Party?" by saying, "I will remain in the CHP. I have been a CHP member for 54 years. I have no business with individuals. The struggle must be continued in the CHP, which is one of Atatürk's two great works."
İNAN GÜNEY ALSO SAID HE WOULD REMAIN IN THE CHP
Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, who was suspended from his duties, had also previously stated in a statement made after his release that he would continue to engage in politics within the CHP.
Güney had said, "I am a person who has lived their political identity openly throughout my life, Mr. Chairman. I am a member, a soldier of the Republican People's Party. My political activities are open, legitimate, and in front of everyone's eyes. In the 45 neighborhoods of the Beyoğlu district, whether young, old, woman, or man, when they see me, they see an organization; but the name of that organization is the Republican People's Party organization."
