Meat and Milk Board to purchase unsold sacrificial animals

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced that it will purchase sacrificial animals that remain unsold in livestock markets. According to a written statement from the Ministry, animals that producers brought to the market to sell but could not, will be purchased as carcass meat by the Meat and Milk Board (ESK) based on the Sacrificial Animal Purchase Tariff, which is determined by taking into account the producers' care, feeding, and transportation costs.

PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS AT THE LATEST

It was stated that payments to producers who sell their animals to the ESK will be made within 3 business days at the latest, and to provide convenience to producers, the animals can be slaughtered at the nearest slaughterhouse to their current location.

Producers who wish to sell their animals will need to apply to the nearest ESK Combine Directorates between June 20 and June 28.

It will be sufficient for producers to apply with their animals' identification information, the dispatch reports issued for sacrificial animal sales by the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, and the sacrificial market entrance and rental document.

WILL BE PURCHASED AS CARCASS MEAT

After the necessary checks are performed on the TÜRKVET system by the relevant combine directorate, the animals will be purchased as carcass meat in accordance with the ESK's Animal Purchase Criteria and Implementation Principles Instructions.
