MINISTRY ISSUES OPINION
The process, which began with a complaint from parent Ö.K., continues with the Ministry of National Education's General Directorate of Private Education Institutions providing an official opinion.
In the opinion provided, the Ministry began by noting that "there is no legislative provision that could be considered to mandate the institution to perform the registration," but added, "Private educational institutions must act in accordance with the Constitution, relevant legislative provisions, and fundamental legal principles regarding equality and the prohibition of discrimination during registration and admission processes."
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to the allegations of the parent, Ö.K., who stated they were a victim, the process was observed when their child began primary education. It was claimed that following disagreements with the school administration during the transition to the second grade, a policy of systematic exclusion and intimidation (mobbing) was implemented against the student.
According to the parent's statements and allegations, the classroom teacher avoided communicating with the parent, the student was visually excluded from school activities, and was not included in classroom bulletin boards or group activity photos. It is alleged that following a formal notice sent to the school under the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), this situation turned into an aggressive sharing policy in a complete reversal of attitude.
