As part of an investigation conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul, detention warrants were issued for 10 people, including executives of Can Holding. In the statement released by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the investigation into the holding executives was initiated upon the "determination that 245 million TL of criminal proceeds were laundered between 2020-2021 and that 88 billion TL entered company accounts from unknown sources during the same period."
121 COMPANIES SEIZED, 5 PEOPLE DETAINED
Within the scope of the operation carried out this morning, Cemal Can, Mehmet Kenan Tekdağ, Devran Can, Devran Çimen, and Kemal Çimen were detained out of the 10 people for whom detention warrants were issued. As part of the investigation, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) was appointed as a trustee to 121 companies within the holding, including Habertürk, Show TV, and Bloomberg HT.
EDUCATION WILL CONTINUE
The Ministry of National Education announced that educational processes at Doğa Koleji private schools, which were mentioned in the investigation, will continue without interruption. Council of Higher Education (YÖK) President Erol Özvar announced that Istanbul Bilgi University was also included in the process, but that there is no cause for concern for faculty members, administrative staff, or students, and that educational activities at the university will continue uninterrupted.

While the investigation was ongoing, Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy presented the news of the operation and investigation conducted against his employers on the main news broadcast. Ersoy explained that the TMSF had been appointed as a trustee to 121 companies, including Habertürk, Show TV, and Bloomberg HT, as part of the operation and that detention warrants had been issued for 10 people.
