Controversial response from Mehmet Cengiz to his critics: 'They should get off their backsides'

Cengiz Holding Chairman of the Board Mehmet Cengiz, who is constantly in the news for the high-value tenders he receives from the AKP government and for his insults toward citizens, gave a controversial response to a question asked at an opening he attended.

Attending a bank's centenary event, Cengiz answered questions posed to him at the entrance of the venue.

When asked by a reporter what he thinks about the criticisms directed at him on social media, Cengiz replied:

"They should get off their backsides and see the work I do..."

I am constantly investing; I continue to use all my intelligence and energy for the benefit of the people.

-They criticize you a lot on social media, what would you like to say?

I tell them this: they should take my work as an example, they should get off their backsides and see the work I do. I have done things they cannot even imagine; this cannot be achieved through jealousy, it is achieved through hard work. They should work too.
