Mehmet Metiner reacts to Yiğit Bulut for targeting İmamoğlu: 'A leader who has achieved victory'

Former AKP deputy Mehmet Metiner, who has been critical of his party following the March 31 local elections, has reacted to Yiğit Bulut for targeting Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. In a post on his X (Twitter) account, Metiner stated, "İmamoğlu is not just a mayor, but a leader who has competed against the establishment and achieved victory!"

Yiğit Bulut, one of the advisors to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, targeted İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in a post on his X (Twitter) account.

"İMAMOĞLU IS A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE"

Saying, “I will share a sentence with you, take note, we will discuss it, we will see,” Bulut stated, “Ekrem İmamoğlu is a national security issue for the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Nation.”

Bulut continued as follows;

“I hope that when our media reaches the ability to perform real analysis, it will succeed in filling in the details of this thesis! Take note.”

A reaction to Bulut's post targeting İmamoğlu came from AKP's Mehmet Metiner.

Quoting Bulut's post, Metiner stated, "Suppose it is true. What political results have this much emphasis on İmamoğlu and this much perception of threat led to? The truth at the point we have reached is this: İmamoğlu is not just a mayor, but a leader who has competed against the establishment and achieved victory! Politics is meaningful with results."
