Mehmet Özhaseki sells his factory

The industrial company in which former Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and AKP member Mehmet Özhaseki—who has stepped down from his active political duties—is a partner has changed hands. Beşler Cam Elyaf Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., which operates in Kayseri, has been acquired by the French industrial group Fysol Bidco SAS.

MAJORITY SHARES TRANSFERRED TO FRENCH COMPANY

According to a report in Sözcü, the majority shares of the Beşler Group were transferred to the French company as part of the sale. The Competition Board has approved the sale of Beşler Cam Elyaf Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. to Fysol Bidco SAS.

It was reported that Fysol Bidco SAS, which carried out the acquisition, operates in the city of Chambéry, France, near the Swiss border. The French company is noted for its international operations in the industrial sector.

ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF 120 THOUSAND TONS

The factory, which is based in Kayseri and has a history of approximately 28 years, is stated to have an annual production capacity of 120 thousand tons of fiberglass. It was noted that fiberglass products are used in the construction, automotive, defense, and renewable energy sectors.

AMONG TURKEY'S SECOND 500

It was stated that Beşler Cam Elyaf Sanayi Şirketi is included in the list of Turkey's Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises. The company was among the leading industrial organizations in Kayseri.

Mehmet Özhaseki served continuously as the Mayor of Melikgazi District and the Mayor of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality between 1994 and 2015. During this period, he served as mayor for a total of 21 years.

Özhaseki was elected as an AKP Kayseri deputy in 2015. He served as the Minister of Environment and Urbanization for four years starting in 2018.
