Melisa Sözen summoned to testify

Actress Melisa Sözen has provided a statement regarding the charge of 'making propaganda for a terrorist organization' for wearing clothing belonging to the terrorist organization YPG/PYD in a series she acted in back in 2016.

It has been learned that there is no detention procedure regarding Sözen.

"I DID NOT KNOW IT SYMBOLIZED SUCH AN ORGANIZATION"

In her statement to the police, Melisa Sözen said, "I did not know that the clothing I wore symbolized such an organization. I was playing the role of an 'agent'.

The series was not broadcast in Turkey. I am someone who loves my country and my nation," she stated.

Melisa Sözen had made the following statement last year regarding the series that had previously come to the agenda:

In the clearest terms:

1-The series in question is not a secret or hidden project. It is France's most famous crime series, released in 2015.

2-The season of the series I acted in was broadcast in 2017. I portrayed a double agent fighting against Daesh (ISIS).

3-There is no praise for any terrorist organization in the series. If there were, you would have already heard about it in the past 7 years.

I have been acting for 25 years. Malicious criticism, being treated unfairly, insults, and fake news are unfortunately things I have had to get used to while growing up. Therefore, I encountered this internet bullying at a time when my skin had already thickened. Of course, I do not accept the slanders cast against me.

But it is almost impossible for people who are young, have little life experience, or are going through an emotionally sensitive period to cope with this bullying. Although the three points above are quite sufficient, I am adding these lines for those who have difficulty coping with this.

Unfortunately, believing in information without even thinking about its accuracy or where it comes from, without checking it, is one of the black holes of our age. So is the lynch culture.

Do not be a part of this; do not allow yourself or the people around you to experience emotional violence through internet bullying. I will not allow it.

We need to learn to use our own minds and our own knowledge, to research, to use correct sources, and to stop and think before acting. If there is a lesson we should all learn from this strange event, let it be this.
