Mercury-filled amulet panic in Kuşadası: 3 people, including 1 child, poisoned
In the Kuşadası district of Aydın, mercury spilled from an amulet worn around the neck of a 14-year-old child poisoned the child and two other people.

According to the information received, 14-year-old S.B., who lives in the Ege neighborhood, tried to open an amulet around their neck. During this attempt, the mercury inside the amulet spilled onto the child.
S.B., along with their mother P.B. and M.K., who tried to help, became ill shortly after. Upon notification, health, AFAD, and police teams were dispatched to the house.
The 3 people who came into contact with the mercury were taken to the hospital by a medical team wearing special protective gear. AFAD teams carried out cleaning work in the house using special methods.
It was stated that the 3 people, who are believed to have been poisoned by mercury, are not in life-threatening condition.
