Merdan Yanardağ slams IYI Party! Calls Kürşad Zorlu a 'troll spokesperson'

The IYI Party General Administrative Board has rejected the CHP's proposal for cooperation in the local elections by a majority vote.

“WE ARE ENTERING THE ELECTIONS FREE AND INDEPENDENT”

IYI Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu stated that they will enter the March 31, 2024 Local Elections “free and independent.” Stating that they will appear before the voters with the most accurate candidates, Zorlu said, “As the IYI Party, we will go into the 2024 Local Elections ‘free and independent,’ that is, as our Chairperson said, on our own. We will appear before our voters with the most accurate candidates and serve our nation with the motto of ‘Good municipalism.’”

REACTION TO IYI PARTY FROM MERDAN YANARDAĞ

Evaluating the decision in question, TELE 1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ argued on a live broadcast that the IYI Party is being dragged toward suicide. He stated that this decision would be in favor of the People's Alliance.

CALLED KÜRŞAD ZORLU A "TROLL SPOKESPERSON"

Merdan Yanardağ targeted IYI Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu, calling him a "Troll Spokesperson" and said the following: 

"For example, Mr. Troll Spokesperson, what proposal was made that was far from the IYI Party's founding principles, values, and goals? Do you have different views on the protection of the Republic, secularism, and democratic rights and freedoms? Is the CHP a party that is far from defending the unity and integrity of Turkey?"

"THE IYI PARTY MUST BE EXPOSED"

"You will both conduct politics by leaning on Turkey's republican, progressive forces, and you will spit in the well you drink from,” continued Yanardağ, concluding his remarks as follows:

“There is no need to beat around the bush. Be honest. This decision is part of a strategy to defeat the CHP. Primarily, the IYI Party must be exposed. It is preparing to betray secular, republican votes."
