Former CHP deputy Aykut Erdoğdu, who is being held at Silivri No. 9 Prison, shared a poem on social media after being detained and sent to prison as part of the fifth wave of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) operation.
In the lines he penned in prison, Erdoğdu used harsh language regarding the justice system, the political power, and the situation of the "innocent," sending a message with the words: "If thieves come to power in a country and the innocent are held captive, that nation will fall apart, that homeland will be divided, and that state will collapse."
Erdoğdu's post is as follows:
"It is impossible to bind the thief
It is very easy to accuse the innocent
If a thief is caught red-handed, they get away
A single slander is enough for the innocent
In a country where thieves are in power
If the innocent are held captive
That nation will scatter
That homeland will be divided
That state will collapse"
