In Adana, 66-year-old Tamer Evren, who shot and killed his 38-year-old drug-addicted son Hazım Evren with a shotgun during an argument over "drug money," has sent a message from prison through his lawyer.

Evren stated in the message he wrote on paper that their lives had been a living hell for 8 years, saying, "No father wants to kill his child. I have been burned, let no one else be burned."

The message written on the paper included the following statements: "I could not keep up with my son's drug money. He was constantly attacking me and using heavy profanity. Our lives have been a living hell for 8 years. I want a fight to be waged against those who get our youth hooked on the scourge of drugs, and I do not want our future to be darkened. No father wants to kill his child. I have been burned, let no one else be burned."
