Mesut Can Tomay, who was taken into custody, released under judicial control

In an operation launched following a report from a residence in Istanbul's Şişli district, 3 people, including social media influencer and actor Mesut Can Tomay, were taken into custody. Tomay and the 2 other suspects who were referred to the courthouse were released under judicial control by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace.

SUSPICIOUS BAG AT RESIDENCE TRIGGERED OPERATION

According to the report by Anadolu Agency judicial reporter Zeynep Yeşildal, the incident emerged following a report of an unattended bag at a residence in Şişli:

Police teams went to the residence, searched the bag that was the subject of the report, and discovered prohibited substances inside.

Süleyman Çınar, who came to the address to retrieve the bag in question, was taken into custody at the scene. In his statement, Çınar claimed that the bag did not belong to him and that he had come to deliver it to Mustafa Tolga Özen, who resides at the address.

Mustafa Tolga Özen, who was also taken into custody, made shocking allegations in his statement. Özen claimed that the prohibited substances belonged to the famous influencer Mesut Can Tomay, and that Tomay did not keep the materials in his own home because he was afraid of investigations targeting well-known figures.

THEY WERE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE AFTER FORENSIC MEDICINE TESTS

Mesut Can Tomay, Süleyman Çınar, and Mustafa Tolga Özen, who were taken into custody as part of the investigation, were taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine to provide samples for blood and tissue tests.

After their procedures, the 3 suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and were brought before the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace following prosecutor questioning with the charge of "possession of prohibited substances for personal use" and a request for judicial control. All three individuals were released by the judgeship under judicial control provisions.

Born on June 2, 1999, Mesut Can Tomay began his acting career in 2012 with the role of "Tarkan" in the TV series "Türk'ün Uzayla İmtihanı".
