Following Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan's announcement that he has resigned from the CHP, striking statements about him continue to emerge. While the AKP states that there is no work regarding Özarslan's transfer, harsh statements are also coming from the CHP.

Mesut Özarslan, who has been on the agenda with his recent moves, made notable remarks during a live broadcast on tv100. Özarslan stated that the reason behind his resignation lies in the profanities directed at him by CHP Chairman Özel.

Regarding whether he will join the AKP, Özarslan made the following statements: “I have been explaining my troubles for days, but they insistently try not to understand. We had no such plan while explaining our troubles. And I have been saying for 2 days that this is not the case. He said the event was brought to this point when there was no such incident.

“I MET ON FRIDAY NIGHT”

Mesut Özarslan continued his speech with the following expressions: “I met with the provincial chairman in my own office. I discussed this situation and explained it, and he said you did well. I met with high-level officials from the headquarters and explained this situation. My party council member is aware. In fact, I already met with our chairman the evening before the profane messages he sent me the other evening. Mr. Mansur did not meet with me. I met with the chairman on the night connecting Friday to Saturday. I did not say that I would leave during the meeting, there is no such thing. He said, 'If you want to refresh your trust, respond to the news appearing on social media and television.' I said, 'Why should I respond? My relations with the government are good, I have received good things for our municipality, I have started urban transformation, why should I spoil my relations for no reason?'

“I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THINGS GOT HERE EITHER”

I don't understand how this stage was reached, and no one else does either. I did not plan a transition program with the AK Party or any other party. Ömer Çelik already announced today that I did not make such a plan. We all heard it together.

“ASK ÖZGÜR ÖZEL ABOUT THE PROFANITIES”

We met on the night connecting Friday to Saturday. On the night connecting Saturday to Sunday, the chairman sent me profane messages. Ask the chairman about them, not me. He used sentences that would offend me, my person, and my family for no reason. I think the chairman was misinformed based on Melih Gökçek's tweet and the allegations on social media.

“HE SHOULD RESIGN FROM THE CHAIRMANSHIP”

I am saying we met on the night connecting Friday to Saturday. If he says we didn't meet, if he claims this and I prove it, he should resign from the chairmanship; otherwise, I will resign from the Keçiören Mayoralty,” he said.

“I DECIDED TO RESIGN AFTER THE PROFANITIES”

Speaking upon being asked about the messages sent by Özgür Özel, Özarslan said, “I couldn't sleep until morning. I consulted with my entire family and close circle that I could no longer stay in this party and decided to resign.”

"MAYOR MANSUR IS OUR ELDER BROTHER”

Continuing his words, Özarslan said regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, “I see that he is angry with me right now. He is our elder brother, that's how we see him. I don't know what will develop afterwards, but I know he is incredibly angry.

“MY MAYOR MANSUR IS NOT GIVEN THE SUPPORT HE DESERVES”

I also said this; I said, 'I hope God saves my Mayor Mansur Yavaş from the situation he is currently in.' Now, idealists and nationalists have supported Mayor Mansur and positioned themselves by his side. All of them have supported the CHP. But unfortunately, we see that Mayor Mansur Yavaş is never given support or the treatment he deserves in this regard. My other friends see this too. I don't believe they will make our Mayor Mansur a presidential candidate there now.

"I WILL NEVER RETURN AFTER THIS HOUR"

I will never, ever return. I am an honorable person, loyal to my traditions. When there are such profanities directed at my family, and if there is such a shallow-minded chairman, I will never return. I am talking about Özgür Özel's personality; I don't think it fits my morality or my way of thinking.

I TOLD ÖZEL 'STAND BY BAHÇELİ'

In the process of a terror-free Turkey, I told Özgür Özel, 'You need to stand by the wise leader Devlet Bahçeli.' He replied that he would research and examine it,” he said.
