According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: It is estimated that the country will be partly to very cloudy, with rain and showers expected across the Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and Middle Black Sea regions; in the interior parts of the Western and Eastern Black Sea and Sinop; in Eastern Anatolia (excluding Iğdır and Ağrı); and in the northern and eastern parts of Southeastern Anatolia. Precipitation in the Taurus Mountains, the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia, and the higher elevations of the interior Eastern Black Sea region is expected to fall as sleet and, in some places, snow. The rainfall is expected to be heavy in the western parts of Marmara, the Aegean, Western Mediterranean, the western and northern parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, and the southwestern and northern parts of Central Anatolia; and very heavy, with localized severe intensity, in the southwestern Aegean and coastal areas of the Western Mediterranean.

Air temperatures, which have been running above seasonal norms, are expected to decrease starting from our western regions due to the influence of the rainy air mass that is moving in.

Winds are generally expected to blow from southerly directions, shifting to westerly and northwesterly directions at night (26.11.2023) in the western Marmara and North Aegean coasts, light to occasionally moderate; and are expected to be strong (40-70 km/h) and, in some places, reach storm force (70-100 km/h) in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean coasts, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and northern Eastern Anatolia.

According to the latest assessments; the expected showers and thunderstorms in the western regions are forecast to be heavy (30-60 kg/m2) starting from the surroundings of Muğla and spreading over time to the western Marmara and the entire Aegean coast, and very heavy with localized severe intensity (60-100 kg/m2) in the coastal areas of Muğla and the Gulf of Edremit. Caution and preparedness are required against negative consequences such as flooding, water accumulation, lightning, local hail, and the risk of tornadoes.

According to the latest assessments; showers and thunderstorms are expected to be heavy (25-60 kg/m2) starting from the west of Antalya and spreading over time to the entire province and the southwestern districts of Konya, and very heavy with localized severe intensity (60-120 kg/m2) in the coastal areas of western Antalya and its eastern parts. Precipitation is expected to turn into heavy sleet and, in some places, heavy snow at altitudes above 1800 m over time. Caution and preparedness are required against potential negative consequences such as flooding, water accumulation, lightning, local hail, the risk of tornadoes, and disruptions to transportation.

STRONG WIND WARNING

According to the latest assessments: Winds are expected to blow as strong and, in some places, storm-force (40-70 km/h) in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, and northern Eastern Anatolia regions, and as a strong storm (70-100 km/h) in the interior parts of the Middle and Eastern Black Sea. Generally blowing from southerly directions, the strong winds and storms, which are expected to shift to westerly and northwesterly directions in the north of the Marmara and, over time, in the northern parts of the country starting from Sunday morning, are expected to lose their effect after the evening hours. Caution and preparedness are required against negative consequences such as roof damage, falling trees and poles, the risk of poisoning from stoves and chimney gases, and disruptions to transportation.

MARMARA

It is estimated that the region will be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent showers across the region. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Kırklareli, Edirne, Çanakkale, and Balıkesir. Winds are expected to blow strongly (40-70 km/h) from southerly directions, shifting to westerly and northwesterly directions at night.
