Meteorology expert gives date for snowfall: Istanbul to be covered in white

Meteorology expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen made important statements regarding expectations for snow and rain across Turkey. Stating that snowfall for Istanbul will most likely occur in the second half of January, Şen noted that snow will arrive in Istanbul a bit late this year.

Across the country, heavy snowfall is expected on Sunday in Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Tunceli, and Malatya. For Monday, December 1, warnings for snow and sleet have been issued for Erzurum, Van, Kars, Sivas, Gümüşhane, Erzincan, Bingöl, Muş, Bitlis, Hakkari, Ağrı, Ardahan, and Bayburt. Citizens living in these regions are advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions.
