Meteorology issues dust transport and heavy rainfall warning for many cities

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy in places, with intermittent showers and occasional thunderstorms expected in Denizli, eastern Aydın, the interior of Muğla, the inner-western parts of Antalya, and the coasts of Hatay, and over time in the Mediterranean, eastern Central Anatolia, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia (excluding Ardahan, Kars, Iğdır, and Van), as well as the surroundings of Muğla, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Denizli, Eskişehir, western Konya, Tokat, and Karaman.

DUST TRANSPORT EXPECTED

The precipitation is expected to be locally heavy during the night in Osmaniye, western Kahramanmaraş, and the coasts of Hatay, and tomorrow in the Eastern Mediterranean, the surroundings of Malatya, Bingöl, Muş, and Bitlis, as well as the eastern districts of Niğde and Kayseri. Haze and fog are expected in places in the south and east of Marmara, the interior of the Aegean, and the interior of the Black Sea tonight and tomorrow morning. Dust transport is expected tomorrow in the south of Southeastern Anatolia and the southeast of Eastern Anatolia.

While air temperatures are expected to decrease in areas receiving precipitation and fall below seasonal norms, and remain largely unchanged and near seasonal norms elsewhere, the wind is expected to blow from the west and southwest, and from northerly directions in the eastern parts, generally light to occasionally moderate.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING

In its heavy rainfall warning, the Meteorology office stated, "Since the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy during the night in Osmaniye, western Kahramanmaraş, and the coasts of Hatay, and tomorrow in the Eastern Mediterranean, the surroundings of Malatya, Bingöl, Muş, and Bitlis, as well as the eastern districts of Niğde and Kayseri, it is necessary to be cautious and careful against negative consequences such as floods, water inundation, and disruptions in transportation."
