According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly to very cloudy weather will prevail across the northern, central, and western parts of Turkey. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in most of the Marmara region, the Western Mediterranean, inland parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, the vicinity of the Gulf of Iskenderun, the northern and western parts of Central Anatolia, and the Western and Central Black Sea regions.
The forecasts also indicate that precipitation may be seen in the coastal provinces of the Eastern Black Sea and the northeastern part of Eastern Anatolia. In other regions, the weather is expected to be mostly clear and sunny.
Air temperatures are currently hovering around seasonal norms, but are expected to drop below these levels in the northern and western parts starting Saturday. High temperatures are expected to continue in Southeastern Anatolia.
The wind is reported to blow generally from northerly directions, and from southerly directions in the southeastern parts and eventually in the east, at light to occasionally moderate speeds. It was noted that northerly winds on the Aegean coast and in the Marmara region could reach speeds of 40-60 kilometers per hour in some places.
Meteorology has announced that caution and measures should be taken against potential disruptions in transportation and similar negative effects due to the strong winds expected on the Marmara and Aegean coasts.
