Meteorology issues warning: Downpours to begin in Marmara on Sunday evening, temperatures to drop

According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the weather across the country will be largely clear and sunny over the weekend. However, the weather will change starting Sunday evening, particularly in the Marmara region; showers and thunderstorms are expected.
According to forecasts, the rainfall that will begin in Istanbul on Sunday evening is expected to continue intermittently until Wednesday. With the rainfall, it is estimated that air temperatures in the region will decrease significantly, with a drop of 4-5 degrees expected at the beginning of the new week.

Istanbul is 30 degrees this weekend. Rain is coming Sunday evening. The rain will continue intermittently until Wednesday. Temperatures will drop by 4-5 degrees at the beginning of next week. Outside of Marmara and the Black Sea, there is no rain expected next week.”
In assessments by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) and meteorology experts, citizens have been urged to take precautions against potential traffic congestion, sudden rainfall, and wind-related issues that may occur starting Sunday evening.
WHICH PROVINCES ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE RAIN?
In addition to Istanbul, it is estimated that thunderstorms may occur in the surrounding areas of Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Bursa, Kocaeli, and Sakarya in the Marmara region. Outside of the Marmara and Black Sea regions, no rainfall is generally expected next week in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia regions.
While partly cloudy weather stands out in the northern and eastern parts of the country today, there is a possibility of local showers and thunderstorms in the eastern districts of Van after midday. In other regions, the weather is expected to be mostly clear and sunny.
It was reported that temperatures will continue to hover above seasonal norms in the inner and eastern parts of the country. The wind is expected to blow generally from the north, and from the south in the southern parts of the country, at light to occasionally moderate strength.
