Meteorology issues warning for Marmara: Alert for 36 provinces
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 36 provinces due to strong winds and precipitation expected to begin in the Aegean region. Authorities have warned citizens to take necessary precautions.

The western part of Turkey is set to come under the influence of cold and rainy weather starting tomorrow. Meteorological experts have reported that strong winds and storms are expected, particularly in the Aegean and Marmara regions. The mild weather, which has been above seasonal norms in recent days, is expected to give way to winter conditions with rain and thunderstorms.
According to the latest assessments by experts, the rainy weather system entering the country from the Aegean coast will intensify after tomorrow afternoon. Strong winds and storms from the south and west are expected, primarily in the coastal Aegean, and over time, in the western Marmara and inner Aegean regions. There is a possibility that the wind could reach storm levels in some areas, potentially disrupting daily life.
Authorities point out that the southwestern Marmara and the northern Aegean coasts are particularly at risk of strong storms. Therefore, it is advised to take precautions against incidents such as roof damage, as well as falling trees and utility poles. Additionally, citizens are advised to be cautious regarding stove and natural gas-related carbon monoxide poisoning, as well as potential disruptions in transportation.
In the eastern regions, the risk of avalanches has emerged due to snowfall. It was emphasized that the avalanche danger has increased following heavy snowfall in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions, especially in steep areas and locations with snow accumulation.
The 36 provinces that will be affected by the approaching system are as follows: Afyonkarahisar, Ağrı, Artvin, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bingöl, Bitlis, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Erzincan, Erzurum, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, İzmir, Kars, Kırklareli, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Muş, Rize, and Siirt.
With the yellow-coded warning issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, it was stated that public institutions and municipalities in these provinces have been mobilized, and teams are on standby to respond to any potential negative developments.
