Metin Şenay, who abused children for years in a soundproof room, has confessed to the charges
It has been learned that 60-year-old Metin Şenay, who sexually abused children for more than 10 years at his water delivery shop in Bağcılar, Istanbul, has confessed to the crimes he is accused of.

In Bağcılar, Istanbul, the fact that water delivery man Metin Şenay had been sexually abusing children for over 10 years in a soundproof room at his shop has caused public outrage in the country.
SECRET ROOM DISCOVERED, ABUSE FOOTAGE SEIZED
The chain of abuse, every detail of which is blood-curdling, was uncovered on May 24, 2023, when the family of 11-year-old M.Y. filed a missing person report after she was late coming home from school. Police investigations determined that Metin Şenay, who owned a water shop called Metin Su in the Yenimahalle neighborhood, had picked up M.Y. in his minibus and taken her to his shop.
Teams entering the shop found M.Y. in a secret room. Metin Şenay was arrested on May 25, 2023.
Footage of the abuse of children was seized at the shop.
HE HAD BEEN SEXUALLY ABUSING THE VICTIM SINCE SHE WAS 5 YEARS OLD
The prepared indictment stated that Şenay began sexually assaulting one victim in 2011 when she was just 5 years old, that this assault continued until 2021 when the child suffered a stroke, and that he sexually assaulted two siblings, aged 10 and 11, from 2019 to 2023. It was also noted that he had covered the walls with foam to prevent the children's voices from being heard and had hung threatening notes on the walls, such as, "If you don't listen to me, I will cause you great pain; I will kill you if necessary."
ADMITTED TO THE CHARGES
The indictment also states that Şenay recorded the moments when he sexually assaulted the victim children.
It was noted that Şenay committed the crime of sexual assault against the last victim child and declared that he accepted the charges brought against him. The indictment explains that Şenay was previously tried for abusing a girl in 2009, remained in custody for nearly 3 years, and was later acquitted after the prison sentence was overturned by the Court of Cassation.
In the indictment, for the crimes committed against 4 victims, Metin Şenay faces a total prison sentence ranging from 82.5 years to 244 years and 5 months for each victim, and because the children had not yet reached the age of 12, a total sentence of no less than 216 years was requested. The defendant also faces a request for 2 to 5 years in prison for the crime of 'obscenity' committed against the public.
