The 18th term collective bargaining negotiations between the Railway Workers' Union of Turkey (Demiryol-İş) and Metro Istanbul Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in Istanbul have ended in a dispute.

Following the failure to sign a contract within the mediation period appointed by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment Agency, the union's board of directors decided to go on strike.

Metro Istanbul employees gathered in front of the Metro Istanbul General Directorate located in Esenler, Istanbul.

The union's branch president, Resul Aktaş, stated that a strike decision had been taken at Metro Istanbul Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. workplaces. At the end of the speech, a notice titled "Strike Declaration" was posted on the glass of the general directorate building. Following the speech, the employees continued their protest by performing traditional folk dances in the area.
