MHP moves to shut down TikTok! 'Not suitable for the Turkish family structure'
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Kırıkkale Deputy Halil Öztürk stated, "It is clear that TikTok, which is heavily filled with immoral posts and tramples on our national values, must be shut down as soon as possible. I would like it to be known that we are preparing a legislative proposal in this direction."

The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has taken action to have the social media platform TikTok shut down in Turkey.
MHP Kırıkkale Deputy Halil Öztürk pointed out that TikTok is one of the most widely used social media platforms in the world and in Turkey, stating that the number of users has exceeded 1 billion globally and is 30 million in Turkey.
"NOT SUITABLE FOR THE TURKISH FAMILY STRUCTURE"
Noting that the TikTok application is a medium where images and behaviors that are not suitable for the Turkish family structure and culture are shared, Öztürk said, "In this sense, it is reflected in the public eye that operations are being carried out and judicial investigations are being opened against account managers who create obscene content, generate income through live broadcasts, and share child abuse. At this very point, I must state that the social media platform called TikTok has turned into a complete swamp, and instead of swatting flies in the swamp, the swamp must be drained."
"IF MORALITY DISAPPEARS, THE FUTURE DISAPPEARS"
Stating that posts made on a social media medium where moral values are disregarded should be seen as elements that threaten social order, Öztürk said, "This is, first and foremost, necessary for a healthy society in which we will raise our children. If morality disappears, the future disappears. A society whose morality is damaged or destroyed, and whose national and spiritual values are battered every day, cannot prepare its future and cannot build its destiny on solid foundations."

Öztürk said, "In this sense, it is clear that TikTok, which is heavily filled with immoral posts and tramples on our national values, must be shut down as soon as possible. I hope that by taking the necessary measures and steps against all kinds of elements aimed at corrupting the cultural codes of the Turkish nation, our national culture and moral structure will never be corrupted."
