MHP MP compares AKP mayor to 'Adnan Oktar and his kittens': Issues warning over public funds

MHP Ordu MP Naci Şanlıtürk criticized AKP Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Hilmi Güler in statements made on Kanal 52.

MHP's Şanlıtürk stated that the municipality is developing housing projects on vacant land under the guise of urban transformation, noting that the responsibility lies entirely with the municipal administration.

Şanlıtürk said, "Videos like those of Adnan Oktar's 'kittens' are being shared on social media, saying 'We did a great job, it's so beautiful.' Stop having commissioned news articles written in newspapers with public money."

"The Ordu Metropolitan Municipality is passing off building houses on empty land as urban transformation. Is the general manager responsible? Of course, he is responsible. We are saying this clearly without beating around the bush. Ordu is a People's Alliance municipality, agreed, but all responsibility is theirs," said Şanlıtürk, alleging that the municipality has spent 12-13 million TL on communication units to create a perception.

In the continuation of his statement, Şanlıtürk remarked, "It is easy to pay salaries to NGO heads from the municipal treasury and give them hush money. Videos like those of Adnan Oktar's 'kittens' are being shared on social media, saying 'We did a great job, it's so beautiful.' Speaking about the municipality's claims regarding energy production, Şanlıtürk said, "What is it, sir, they are producing energy. Come on, show me, where and how are you producing energy? Come, let's take a sample from your streams and see."

Furthermore, criticizing the municipality's attitude toward small tradespeople, Şanlıtürk said, "It is easy to send the district governor and municipal police to a poor person selling meatballs by the stream to show the power of the state. Come, show that power to the metropolitan municipalities."
