MHP's Feti Yıldız emphasizes legal equality! Murat Çalık comes to mind

MHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Legal and Election Affairs, Feti Yıldız, stated in a post on the social media platform X that although there is legal equality in the Constitution, there is no explicit provision regarding the generality of laws. Yıldız stated, "It is accepted that it exists in the Constitution as a result of the principles of the rule of law and equality before the law."

In his post, Yıldız said, "The generality of the law is understood to mean provisions that do not target a specific person, do not observe a special or temporary situation, can be applied in a predetermined abstract manner, and address all persons."

"A note for the curious:

ÇALIK'S SITUATION ON THE AGENDA

While Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık is experiencing health problems in prison, a report by the Council of Forensic Medicine stating that his remaining in prison conditions does not pose an obstacle to his health has sparked controversy. While Çalık's health condition causes concern, it has been noted that former Keskin Mayor Dede Yıldırım, who was arrested for similar crimes, was released due to health problems.
