MHP's Yıldız on 'Öcalan's statements to be heard in committee': 'Thoughtfully considered'

MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made statements regarding the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in Parliament as part of the resolution process. Yıldız stated that the commission, chaired by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, plans to take statements from Öcalan.

Yıldız announced that the National Solidarity Commission may appoint 3–4 people in the coming period to take the statements of PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Feti Yıldız said, "Selecting 3–4 people from within the commission to take Öcalan's statements, with the timing and method carefully considered, will not constitute a weakness."

Yıldız's statement is as follows:

"The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established in line with the goal of a Turkey without terrorism, began its work on 05.08.2025 under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş. In accordance with the decision taken, the commission continues to listen to the views of individuals, institutions, non-governmental organizations, and political parties regarding the Turkey without terrorism process.

At our 7th meeting, the suggestions of former Speakers of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey were heard. On the path to a Turkey without terrorism, the state has created its own dynamic. The Turkish state is experiencing its strongest period of the last three centuries.

Discussions will continue next week.
