A new decision has been made regarding Batuhan Can, who was arrested on allegations of "drugs" and "prostitution" as part of a drug investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It has been learned that Can, who is the boyfriend of Mika Raun, has been released under judicial control.
INVESTIGATION COVERED MIKA RAUN AND HER BOYFRIEND
Social media personality Mika Raun was also detained within the scope of the investigation. Following Raun's statement to the prosecutor, in which she admitted that she and her boyfriend Batuhan Can had used drugs in Amsterdam, Netherlands, proceedings were also initiated against Can.
"WE ATE DRUG-LACED CAKE IN AMSTERDAM" STATEMENT
In her statement to the prosecutor, Mika Raun declared that she had been in Amsterdam about 20 days ago and had used drugs there. Raun explained in her statement that her boyfriend of three years, Batuhan Can, had also eaten the drug-laced cake with her in the same setting, using the following words:
"I would like to state at the beginning of my testimony that I used drugs in Amsterdam about 20 days ago. I ate the cake that was there. My boyfriend Batuhan Can also ate the cake with me. We have been together for 3 years. I regret using drugs."
On the other hand, accusations of "prostitution" and "facilitating the use of drugs or stimulants" also came to the fore within the scope of the investigation against Batuhan Can. Can provided a detailed defense regarding these accusations in his statement to the prosecutor.
"I DID NOT ENCOURAGE PROSTITUTION, I DID NOT ACT AS A BROKER"
Batuhan Can stated that when he was detained, he knew that proceedings were being conducted under Articles 191 and 216 of the Turkish Penal Code, but that he learned of the accusations of prostitution and facilitating drug use later. In his defense, Can made the following statements:
"At no point in my life have I encouraged anyone to engage in prostitution, acted as a broker, or earned money this way."
"I DID NOT ORGANIZE DRUG PARTIES IN MY HOME"
Responding to the accusation of facilitating the use of drugs, Can admitted that he had used drugs abroad but denied the other allegations directed at him. In his statement, Can included the following words:
"Regarding the crime of facilitating the use of drugs, I admitted in my defense that I used drugs abroad. However, I did not organize drug parties in my home. This is all I have to say."
RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
As a result of the evaluation made regarding Batuhan Can, who was arrested within the scope of the investigation, it was decided to release him under judicial control. It was reported that the investigation into the file is being continued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
