Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, shared the details of the aid campaign launched for the victims of the fire in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, which resulted in the deaths of 29 workers, during an event held in Ankara with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).
In a statement made via his social media account, Minister Bolat reported that the 14.5 million TL collected was delivered to the Istanbul Governorship today and that the aid would be distributed equally to the grieving families.
The Minister wished for God's mercy upon the workers who lost their lives and patience for their families, expressing his hope that this support would contribute to alleviating the families' pain.
He also extended his thanks to the businesses that are members of the TOBB E-Commerce Council and to President Ozan Acar for their support of the campaign. Minister Bolat emphasized the importance of the ongoing investigation to clarify the incident and bring those responsible to justice, stating his wish that similar tragedies do not occur again.
