Minister Fidan announces: Turkey is ready to send troops to Gaza

Minister Fidan made important statements regarding the agenda during a live broadcast program he attended.

Highlights from Minister Fidan's statements are as follows:

"Turkey, under the leadership of our President who was invited to the White House. Turkey has become a sought-after actor. At the UN, our President met with Trump, along with leaders of other Muslim countries. Later, our President was hosted at the White House. During those meetings, serious issues regarding the relations between the two countries were discussed. The war in Ukraine continues to our north, which is important for both Turkey and the US. We have important relations with Iran in many respects, and the US has nuclear problems. Then there is the Syria file... A certain consensus needs to be formed on these issues. The most critical point is the Gaza issue. The blocked issues need to be opened, and this needed to be reviewed.

THERE IS NOTHING MORE NORMAL THAN TURKEY BEING IN SYRIA

Turkey's efforts in Syria, the effort put forth to ensure the legitimacy of the new administration, are of a scale rarely seen in the international arena. There is nothing more normal than Turkey being there. The biggest difference in Turkey's foreign policy is that it wants for other countries in the region what it wants for itself and strives to move forward together. It is important to have a consensus with the key actors.

INTEGRATION OF THE SDF

This needs to be advanced within a certain consensus. There is a certain mechanism created under the pretext of fighting DAESH. Reversing this in a way that benefits all actors requires a certain amount of patience. The talks between Damascus and the YPG are important. Our primary issue is to remove Israel from being a threat to Syria. We expect the talks that the YPG is conducting with Damascus to evolve to a certain point.

WILL TURKISH SOLDIERS GO TO GAZA?

First of all, in principle, our Commander-in-Chief, our President, is the authority that will give the order. If the necessary conditions are met, Turkey is ready to take responsibility in Gaza. Turkey will do its part in every matter, including sending troops. This is the clearest message we have given to the international community.

F-35 ISSUE AND CAATSA SANCTIONS

When our President and Mr. Trump met at the White House on September 25, Mr. Trump expressed a will. His respect and trust for our President, I mean, without even thinking about it, he said that this CAATSA is something that should not be between us. We need to remove this. He also gave instructions to his own bureaucracy for this.

We have a problem area there. As you know, CAATSA is a law passed by Congress. And when I talk to my colleague Marco Rubio from time to time, he says: I was a senator, I was on the side that made the law. Now I have become a practitioner, I have come to the administrative side. I am the Foreign Minister. The President gave me an instruction, he says implement this. Now I look at the text. Oh, we have written such a text that the administration cannot move anywhere.

HOPEFULLY, WE WILL SOLVE IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

What they call locking the system. He says we have done everything with such a text so that the administration cannot move anywhere. Now, of course, as they say, there is no shortage of solutions in democracies; as long as the intention is good in our relations, the search for solutions will not run out. Hopefully, there are some solution topics on this issue that our President has also put his will into. We will share them with the public when the time comes anyway. But what is important is this: Unlike Biden, America has the intention to solve this. Mr. Trump has given instructions on this matter, he has put his will into it. This issue is being followed. We are following it too. Hopefully, we will solve it as soon as possible."
