Minister Fidan: If an agreement is reached today, a ceasefire will be announced

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hassan al-Shaibani in Ankara.

Speaking at the joint press conference held after the meeting, Minister Fidan stated regarding the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), "The SDF must be removed from the equation. Just as Syria fulfills the obligations demanded of it by the international community, the international community must also fulfill its responsibilities toward Syria. All sanctions must be lifted."

"A CEASEFIRE COULD BE DECLARED"

On the other hand, Hakan Fidan said, "Currently, Israel and Hamas are negotiating indirectly in Egypt. If an agreement is reached, a ceasefire will be announced today."

Syrian Foreign Minister al-Shaibani stated that they base their dialogue with the SDF on the principles of one country, one army, and one territory. Expressing his gratitude toward Turkey, Syrian Foreign Minister al-Shaibani said, "The Syrian people will never forget the support provided by Turkey. We are in dialogue with the SDF."
