Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan delivered a message of partnership against terrorism with the Syrian administration at the 61st Munich Security Conference.
Highlights from Minister Fidan's remarks are as follows:
"We expect our friends in Damascus to help us get rid of the PKK/YPG. Because the PKK/YPG poses a major threat to Syria and the entire region.
The terrorists gather in northern Syria and hide behind the pretext of fighting against DAESH. But there is no war against DAESH in the region.
These people cannot be allowed to occupy one-third of the country, sit on oil and natural gas fields, and plunder the country's resources. It is unacceptable that millions of Syrian people cannot benefit from this oil and natural gas. This security threat must end, and this is a major problem not only for us but also for our region."
