Minister Gürlek: No one can wag a finger at Turkish courts

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated in a post on his social media account that Turkey is an independent, sovereign, and democratic state governed by the rule of law.

Minister Gürlek expressed that the monitoring of judicial processes in Turkey by international circles is an indicator of the country's democratic maturity and transparency.

In contrast, Gürlek emphasized that making statements about ongoing cases that effectively pass judgment before the courts is an unacceptable attitude that targets the Turkish judiciary and attempts to place judicial processes under political pressure. He noted that judicial processes are conducted not according to the political agendas, ideological expectations, or lobbying activities of foreign parliamentarians, but in accordance with the Constitution, laws, evidence in the file, and the discretion of independent courts.

Gürlek used the following expressions: "I state this clearly here: no one can wag a finger at Turkish courts; no one can attempt to influence ongoing trials, put the Turkish judiciary under pressure, or interfere in our country's internal affairs."

"WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY POLITICAL AGENDA"

Stating that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has reached this point by protecting its national will against tutelage centers, coup attempts, terrorist organizations, and circles trying to lecture it on democracy from the outside, Gürlek expressed that Turkey is a great state with the power to operate its own law, the will to protect its democracy, and the sovereignty to determine its future. Minister Gürlek concluded his post with the words: "We will not allow any political agenda that targets our national will, our judicial organization, and our state of law."
