Minister Akın Gürlek announced that the arrested Mayor of Uşak, Özkan Yalım, and Gökhan Böcek, the son of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, have provided statements under the effective remorse law.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into allegations that Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek had paid 'bribes' to become a mayoral candidate. Muhittin Böcek's daughter-in-law, Zuhal Böcek, who was taken into custody, was arrested on May 3 by the duty magistrate judge to whom she was referred. Within the scope of the investigation, the assets of Muhittin Böcek, his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, and his daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek were seized on allegations of 'bribery', 'procuring bribes', 'extortion', and 'laundering assets derived from crime'.
With Minister Gürlek's statement, it has become clear that Muhittin Böcek's son, Gökhan Böcek, has become an informant.
Another informant is the arrested Mayor of Uşak, Özkan Yalım.
CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre had stated, "Our Central High Disciplinary Board, which met extraordinarily on May 2, has decided to expel Özkan Yalım by unanimous vote."
