Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has announced that new regulations will be introduced for those who do not show up for hospital appointments. According to Minister Koca's statements, an "approval" system will be implemented for appointments at state hospitals. It was stated that 25 million unique citizens canceled 81 million appointments at the last minute, and this situation caused 17 million appointment slots to remain idle.

According to the report by Ahmet Örsoğlu from NTV, previously, those who did not show up for their appointments could not make a new appointment for the same specialty for 15 days; however, this sanction will now be extended to all specialties.

'I WILL ATTEND MY APPOINTMENT' APPROVAL WILL BE REQUIRED

Minister Koca stated the following:

"25 million unique citizens have canceled 81 million of their appointments at the last minute. Because we cannot assign new appointments to these gaps, 17 million appointment slots remain idle. To utilize this idle capacity, we will require an 'I will attend my appointment' approval. Appointment holders will provide approval until 23.59 on the day before the appointment. For unconfirmed appointments, we will assign the slot to someone else.

With the method that will be implemented soon, those who do not show up for their appointment for the second time will not be able to make appointments for any specialty for a 15-day period. We are starting here, and as the practice progresses, we will continue to take additional measures.

We want to provide sensors to all our diabetic citizens free of charge. We have started to localize the sensor, and preparations for mass production are underway. After obtaining the legal permits and documents, we want to start using them in clinics within the next 6-7 weeks. The sensor we have developed will be 90 percent domestic in terms of value."
