Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek has issued a statement regarding the resignation rumors that have surfaced on social media and in certain outlets.

Şimşek stated that the claims do not reflect the truth and warned the public against speculative news.

“THE RESIGNATION CLAIMS ARE BASELESS”

In his statement, Mehmet Şimşek said, “The resignation claims circulated about me are baseless.”

“SPECULATIVE NEWS SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN CREDENCE”

Continuing his statement, Şimşek noted that such reports target Turkey's economic stability, adding, “Such speculative news aimed at our country's economic stability should not be given credence.”
