Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu made statements regarding the health agenda during a live broadcast on a television channel.

Minister Memişoğlu said, "Everyone should know that there is currently no risk of such an epidemic regarding Hantavirus. Our society should rest assured. The statements of our Ministry of Health, not speculations, should be taken into account. Turkey is a country that has proven the resilience and capacity of its health system to the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were one of the countries that managed this in the best way possible. Currently, we are capable of preventing and monitoring all kinds of epidemics with our health system and human resources. We are prepared for such risks together with our stakeholders."

Announcing that the test results of 5 citizens who were tested for Hantavirus were negative, Memişoğlu said, "Two of our citizens had left the ship earlier, and we placed them in quarantine as well. We took our three citizens in isolation from the moment they disembarked from the ship using our own aircraft. The Hantavirus tests for these five people came back negative, and the 42-day quarantine process continues."

"Turkey has become one of the countries providing the best healthcare services in the world with its health system"

Stating that Turkey is one of the countries providing the best healthcare services in the world with its health system, Memişoğlu said, "Our ancestors and our civilization have always kept the health system at the forefront. Now, since 2002, under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we have experienced an incredible development process in the field of health with the Health Transformation Project. Turkey has become one of the countries providing the best healthcare services in the world with its health system."

"We are now producing our own SMA medication"

Expressing that SMA medications are now produced by Turkey, Minister Memişoğlu said, "Let our scientists, engineers, and health manufacturers produce them. As the Ministry of Health, we are ready to use them in our health system. As long as they produce them. When you look at it, we are supporting 2,000 projects. We are now producing our own SMA medication. Clinical trials have begun. With the support of the private sector and TÜSEB, and with the preclinical study licensed by TİTCK reaching its final stage, we are producing our own SMA medication that we use for our people. I say this in the international arena as well; Turkey should no longer be seen just as a market in health. We say that Turkey is now a partner and a role-setter in health technology and production."
