Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Yumaklı: Fires are looking for a reason to start

Yumaklı exchanged holiday greetings with citizens at a program organized by the Kastamonu Governor's Office for Eid al-Adha.

Speaking at the event, Yumaklı celebrated the citizens' Eid al-Adha.

Emphasizing that holidays are days of joy, Yumaklı said, "I pray that all the oppressed, especially in Gaza, whom we have all been watching on television for months, and who have been denied not only the joy of the holiday but even the right to a normal life, regardless of whether they are children, young or old, will reach peace and tranquility on the occasion of this holiday."

Pointing to the importance of unity and solidarity, Yumaklı stated that new projects regarding the development of the country and the Turkish nation will be created with a Turkey free of terrorism.

Expressing that the goal of a strong and great Turkey is a historical responsibility, Yumaklı said:

"We always state that Turkey is not limited to Turkey alone. Especially the fact that Turkey is a point of hope, that our country is an island of peace, and the favor shown to both our Turkey and our President, based on the fact that fair suggestions will be offered to all countries regarding their problems, has revealed the importance of Turkey in this sense these days. I hope that the Ukraine-Russia war, which poses a great threat to the world, starting especially with our close neighbor Syria, will also end with these peace initiatives and the relief of the peoples of those countries in our country."

Drawing attention to traffic accidents that occur during holidays, Yumaklı asked citizens to be careful in traffic.

"I REQUEST SPECIAL SENSITIVITY"

Minister Yumaklı explained that Eid al-Adha coincides with a period when the weather is hot, and noted the following:

"In these days when temperatures are starting to rise in a very abnormal way, please do not light fires, not only in forested areas but also outdoors. A fire is looking for a reason to start. The effort put into extinguishing it sometimes causes images that break all of our hearts. We are not just talking about a tree fire; we are talking about the loss of life of every living creature that lives there. I request special sensitivity from all our citizens, especially in areas sensitive to fire and throughout Turkey, particularly in forested areas or areas close to forested areas. May this year end with a picture that we can all be proud of regarding forest fires in our country."
