Minister of Agriculture speaks on tea purchase price: 'The price is very reasonable'

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated regarding the fresh tea purchase price, "There is a reasonable purchase price that has been prepared, announced, and worked on according to costs."

Yumaklı answered journalists' questions before the AKP TBMM Group Meeting. When asked about the reactions of producers to the fresh tea purchase price announced for 2024, Yumaklı said that the 2024 fresh tea purchase price was determined by looking at the costs.

"THERE IS A REASONABLE PURCHASE PRICE"

Emphasizing that there is no abnormal situation between the purchase price of ÇAYKUR and the costs, Yumaklı said, "There is a reasonable purchase price that has been prepared, announced, and worked on according to costs. As in every year, costs are looked at, a reasonable income or profit is added on top of that, and the price is announced accordingly. It is no different from previous years. But if you remember, in previous years, these expectations were high, they were pushed much higher. I honestly do not think that is correct."
