Providing information about the fires in Orhaneli and Kestel, Uraloğlu made the following statement:

"Two fires were detected in the Orhaneli and Kestel areas; necessary coordination was established with all public institutions under the governorship's oversight, and the required interventions were carried out on the ground. The fire has spread due to the hot weather and the effect of the wind. The fire on the Orhaneli side has been significantly contained, and we may see a positive result there in a short time.

The fire on the Kestel and Gürsu side is affecting an area of 110 hectares; until nightfall, our 13 aircraft intervened effectively. Our colleagues on the ground are monitoring the fire effectively.

We went to the fire on the Gürsu side and made on-site assessments. We took action to avoid risks in residential areas; the villages of Karahıdır and İğdir were evacuated. 1,300 citizens in the villages were evacuated.

With sunrise, our aerial efforts will continue, and hopefully, we will bring the fire under control before it causes further damage. For now, we have not received any information regarding injuries.

We are also receiving information regarding the TOKİ residences in Gürsu. Currently, there is no primary risk there, and no houses have been evacuated.
