Minister Özhaseki responds to Özgür Özel's 'they plundered' remarks: 'So-called chairman'

Minister Özhaseki had said at a tree-planting ceremony in Kayseri, "We have practically plundered the Anatolian geography, which was once lush green like an emerald. We destroyed our trees and left our forests barren," to which Özgür Özel responded by saying, "They have plundered every corner of Turkey." Minister Özhaseki has now issued a harsh response to Özel's comments.

At a tree-planting program he attended in Kayseri, Özhaseki had stated, "We have practically plundered the Anatolian geography, which was once lush green like an emerald.

We destroyed our trees and left our forests barren. Now we are launching a new mobilization," he said.

ÖZEL'S 'THOSE ON RECORD ARE BEING PLUNDERED' OUTBURST

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to these words, saying, "65 percent of many cities have been marked as mining areas. Of course, the country's assets should be extracted, but gold is being extracted using the most brutal mining methods and purified with cyanide; the waste is left to us.

The Kaz Mountains are there, Akbelen is there... Because forests that were not previously recorded are now being recorded, those that were not actually on record are being registered, while those that are on record are being plundered.

That is why it appears as if the forests are not decreasing," he had said.

HARSH REACTION FROM ÖZHASEKİ

Özhaseki responded to this reaction from Özel via his X account.

Describing Özel as a 'so-called chairman,' Özhaseki summarized his points as follows:

As always, while we provide services, the CHP, whose mentality remains unchanged even if its chairman changes, continues to criticize good work.

The so-called chairman is attempting to question our sensitivity toward the environment. Do not engage in demagoguery!

It is impossible for so-called environmentalists, fake nature lovers, those who have no concern for climate change, and those known for trash, pits, and mud to understand us.
