MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy had submitted a parliamentary question to the Speaker of the TBMM in recent weeks regarding the wage imbalance between public sector workers and civil servants.
Ersoy had asked whether the government would make a new regulation on this matter, and the motion noted that salary differences between personnel working under different statuses in public institutions had deepened following the latest collective bargaining negotiations.
A response to Ersoy's motion came from Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek.
In his response, Minister Şimşek used the phrase, "Studies are being conducted regarding the financial and social rights of public officials within the framework of budgetary possibilities and wage balances."
