"Referring to a concert in Istanbul, [the deputy] made a statement about 'Kurdish hostility'. I have no information regarding the concert in question; I will share with them separatelythe reasons why it was cancelled.Regarding 'KRegarding the allegation of 'Kurdishhostility,' I would like to state a fewpoints. The Justice and Development Party came to power in theNovember 3, 2002 elections. On November 18, 2002, the first AK Party government was formed, and on November 30, 2002, the state of emergency (OHAL) was lifted as the first act of the government.
From opening evacuated villages to resettlement to enabling citizens to learn Kurdish, we have implemented a series of activities. Currently, within the Ministry of National Education,we have made it possible, upon request, for approximately30 living languages and dialects,including Kurdish, Kurmanji, and Zazaki, to be selectedand for the chosen course or language tobe learned.
Furthermore, in order for these courses to be taught,for teacher appointments, we have made them and we continue to do so. Regarding the question 'How many teachers did you appoint?', I would like to underline the following: From here, I would like to make acall to our esteemed deputies. IfZazaki and KurmanjiIf you want teacher appointments to be made forKurdish courses, you must ensure thatstudents in theregion choose thesecourses.Because when we
appoint teachers, we base it on thestaffing quota and the courses taught in the TWe are making these decisions by taking into account the number ofstudents across Turkey. We calculate the teachinghours that teachers are required to cover as part of their salary and, accordingly,determine the staffingrequirements. As demandarises, staffingneeds will emerge and appointments will be made. Currently, those in the system as the teachersmeet the staffing requirements, thereis no need to opena newposition."

During his speech, Minister Tekin interrupted DEM Party Mardin Deputy Berivan Güneş Altın, saying, "Do you know better than I do? You know everything very well, madam; whereas I knownothing. Even though I have millions of data points, you, with absolutely noEven when there is nothing, you know better than I do. You are verypolite, I congratulate you; Ireally give you agold star, you passed theclass," he replied.
Minister Tekin, in the continuation of hisremarks, stated,"Outside of schools, anyone who wishescan learn Kurdishby exercising the right to openprivate educationcourses."also exists.
Encourage this; employers and business owners should opencourses.While all theseregulations regarding Kurdish have beenmade, criticizing ourgovernment and ourministryI do not acceptyour accusationof hostilitytoward Kurdish. I am ready to prove under any circumstances that this claim is not true. Please makeyour assessments by making comparisonswith the past," he said.
