Minister Tekin makes statement on holiday break

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin announced that the Eid al-Adha holiday will remain as it is. Continuing his official visits in the Erciş district of Van, Minister Tekin visited the MoNE Communication Center, where he met with call center staff and answered incoming questions.

During the visit, a citizen asked whether the upcoming holiday break would be extended. Minister Tekin stated that extending the holiday is not possible from a legal and pedagogical perspective. "According to our regulations, our children are required to attend school for 180 working days per year," Tekin said, emphasizing that extending the holiday period would mean students would be unable to make up for certain lessons.

Addressing suggestions for an early holiday break circulating on social media, Minister Tekin said, "While these suggestions may sound pleasant, a unit missed in the 9th grade this year cannot be completed once the student moves on to the 10th grade. Likewise, for students who are about to graduate, this situation is irreparable." Stating that the holiday break will end on the 4th day, Tekin maintained a firm stance on the matter.
