Minister Tekin: The interview mechanism is being abolished
Minister of National Education Tekin answered questions regarding the education agenda during a live broadcast. Tekin also shared the information that the interview practice will be abolished.

Recalling that 25,000 positions were allocated to the Ministry of National Education this year as a result of their meetings with the Presidency of Strategy and Budget and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Tekin said, "We have allocated 15,000 positions for our teacher candidates who took the KPSS in 2024. And 10,000 for our friends who will join us through the AGS to be held in July."
Stating that they are currently conducting two different legal processes, Tekin noted the following:
"One of these is for our friends whom we will employ according to the 2024 KPSS. Their procedure is clear. We have announced the branch distributions, we will receive applications accordingly, and according to the law, we will invite 3 times the number of candidates for each position to an interview.
In other words, 45,000 teacher candidates will be invited to an interview for our 15,000 teacher positions.
They will take the interview exams in the regions or exam areas we have defined for them, based on their ranking in the KPSS scores.
After the interview exam, we will appoint those who are successful."
"THAT IS A SEPARATE MECHANISM"
Announcing that the process regarding the academy will begin after this process, Tekin said, "With the practice we will implement this year, the interview mechanism in the employment of teachers is being completely abolished. In the coming period, another system will begin with the AGS where our teacher candidates will be subject to multiple evaluations; that is a separate mechanism."
