Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that Yunus Emre Geçti, who martyred police officer Şeyda Yılmaz in Ümraniye, Istanbul, has been arrested.
Minister Tunç stated the following in his announcement:
"The attacker, who was taken into custody as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the martyrdom of our police officer Şeyda Yılmaz in Ümraniye, Istanbul, has been arrested by the on-duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace.
We will continue our fight against crime and criminals with determination, together with our judiciary and police force.
I once again wish God's mercy upon our martyr, and extend my condolences to her grieving family and our beloved nation.
May the soul of our martyr be at peace and her place be high."
The attacker, who was taken into custody as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the martyrdom of our police officer Şeyda Yılmaz in Ümraniye, Istanbul, has been arrested by the on-duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace.
