Minister Yerlikaya announces illegal betting operation
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 104 people have been detained in operations conducted as part of the fight against illegal betting.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that operations were carried out by cybercrime units of provincial police departments in 36 provinces, under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security's Cybercrime Department.

Stating that the operations were directed at suspects who promote illegal betting and virtual gambling sites on social media platforms and encourage such games, including users of anonymous and influencer accounts with more than 1 million followers, Yerlikaya made the following remarks:
'As a result of the operations, a large amount of digital material was seized. I congratulate our governors, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices that coordinated the operations, and our provincial police chiefs and heroic police officers who carried out the operations. Illegal betting is a crime that threatens not only individuals but also the future of society. We continue our fight against illegal betting and cyber fraud with determination for the safety of our citizens.'
