8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır on August 21, had not been found despite intensive search efforts lasting more than two weeks.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in a post on X, announced that Narin Güran's lifeless body had been found and stated the following:
"The lifeless body of our daughter Narin, who went missing in Tavşantepe Neighborhood in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, has unfortunately been found by our Gendarmerie teams.
I pray for God's mercy upon our daughter Narin. May she rest in peace. Our condolences to all."
INSIDE A SACK...
Journalist Emrullah Erdinç noted that she was found inside a sack in a stream bed 3 kilometers away from Narin's home.
MINISTER YERLIKAYA DID NOT OFFER CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY
It did not go unnoticed that Minister Yerlikaya did not offer condolences to the family in his message.
Narin's uncle had been taken into custody and arrested, and Narin's DNA samples were found in his car.
RED SLIPPER FOUND
Journalist Emrullah Erdinç stated the following in his remarks on Sözcü TV:
She was found inside a sack in a stream bed at a distance of 3 kilometers.
Gendarmerie teams rushed to the area where the tip-off was made around 9:00 AM and found her in the stream bed.
Gendarmerie teams had been searching the stream beds for a few days. We can say that the tip-off received today was the one that ended all search efforts.
There was a red slipper previously stated to belong to Narin, but it had been stated that it did not belong to her; however, a red slipper was also found at the location where she was found.
Now, the process of determining who killed Narin will begin.
WAS THE LIFELESS BODY LEFT THERE LATER?
Narin's lifeless body was found following a tip-off, despite the Gendarmerie having previously searched the area and not finding her.
The possibility that Narin's lifeless body was taken to the area later is being investigated. While suspicions that the murder occurred within the family are strengthening, the family's visit to the uncle had also drawn attention.
HAD BEEN IN THE WATER FOR A LONG TIME
Diyarbakır Bar Association President Nahit Eren stated the following in his remarks on Sözcü TV:
Today, Narin's lifeless body was reached. Her lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute and it was observed that it had been in the water for a long time. It was reported that she had been hidden in a sack in the stream bed in some way. This is the Gendarmerie's initial report.
Eren also said that there were deformations on Narin's body due to exposure to water.
As the Diyarbakır Bar Association, we want everyone to know that we will not give up on this file until everyone who caused Narin's death receives the punishment they deserve.
