A statement was made by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya regarding traffic inspections and accidents that occurred during the Ramadan Feast holiday.
According to Minister Yerlikaya, 26 thousand 804 security personnel were on duty throughout the 9-day holiday. As a result of the 3 million 642 thousand 538 traffic inspections carried out during this period, a total of 485 thousand 710 penalties were issued.
Furthermore, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that the biggest problem in traffic is excessive speed, stating that 207 thousand 407 of the penalties were issued due to speeding violations.
