Minister Yerlikaya's 'it is not your place' response to Özgür Özel: 'Lies have made a nest in your mouth'

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya responded to the allegations made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, stating, "Look, I am reminding you once again: It is not anyone's place to try to cast a shadow on or belittle the struggle waged by the heroic children of our noble nation by putting their lives on the line."

In a statement made in Zonguldak, Özel had used the following expressions regarding Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya: "Do not try to conduct operations against your own deputy ministers and leak so-called information from there to our side. Do whatever you want. Get off our backs."

Minister Yerlikaya said the following regarding Özel's statements:

"Lies have made a nest in your mouth.

Certain circles, who sit in the shadows and pontificate from their comfort zones, acting as 'the spare tires of the caravan of discord,' are falling into the weakness of belittling the great struggle we are waging together with our heroic security forces for the sake of cheap political calculations and to harvest a few votes.

You voiced the so-called research prepared in the dark rooms of FETÖ first through your deputies in the Planning and Budget Committee, and then you yourself in Zonguldak.

On one hand, you keep our police and gendarmerie on your tongue; on the other hand, you are trying to belittle the struggle those heroes are waging at the cost of their lives with slanders, lies, and perception games.

Look, I am reminding you once again: It is not anyone's place to try to cast a shadow on or belittle the struggle waged by the heroic children of our noble nation by putting their lives on the line.

'Ignoring' the struggle we are waging against organized crime groups and all crime and criminal centers that threaten the peace of our nation for the sake of political calculations is—let alone insulting us—an insult to the sweat and labor of those heroic children of the homeland.

We will never allow this!

Do not worry. As long as FETÖ's own lies are voiced as if they were true, and as long as they are served, they continue to cut a celebration cake.
